This the entrance to VBEG’s library of materials on biomass energy. As the site grows, we will be adding documents, audio, video and other content to the site for public reference. Let’s get familiar with the basic file types you will find here:

Content Organization
Wherever possible we will categorize content into one of six main areas, listed alphabetically below. Click on the links to go to that page for an index files available in that topic.
Feedstocks — These items will talk about a specific point source for biomass energy, e.g., warm season grasses, fuel crops, municipal waste, black & yellow grease, poultry litter, etc. For some potential feedstocks still in development, like algae, there may be crossover with Science & Technology.
Industry Development — These items will deal with infrastructure and other needs for biomass production. E.g., product delivery/transportation, grid issues, economic models, creating a market base. There may be some crossover with Policy.
Overview — These are reports, articles and papers that give you a broad spectrum or background approach to a bioenergy subject or issue.
Policy — These reports and papers deal with the governmental incentives, taxes, carbon pricing, economic development and land-use policies, and regulations of bioenergy.
Reference — These will be things like GIS maps, data sets and glossaries that will help build your vocabulary and provide support documentation to other information on the site.
Science & Technology — This is the area to find information on gasification, pyrolysis, pelletizing, torrefaction and other methods of energy conversion. It will also contain some research and documentation bioenergy “in development.”
